Dholera special investment region (DHOLERA) is a Greenfield industrial city planned and located approximately 100 km. south west of Ahmedabad. Dholera spans an area of approximately 920 sq. km. & the total will be completed in the next two decades, while land is ready for allotment in the area of development under 22 sq. km. It is strategically located between the industrial cities of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar

The Dholera Special Investment Region (DHOLERA) Development Authority has the responsibility of planning and developing the DHOLERA. It will encompass the function of administering government land within DHOLERA. An SPV named Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) has been created between the Central Government (DMICDC) Trust and the State Government (DSIRDA) of Gujarat to implement the project. Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC), a special purpose company, was incorporated to establish, promote and facilitate development of the Dholera Special Investment Region(DHOLERA).

For the project Dholera, a land mass of approximately 920 sq km, encompassing 22 villages of the Dholera Taluka in the District of Ahmedabad was acquired. From which 567.39 sq km is developable. It is expected to be a bigger city than Ahmedabad. It is strategically located between the industrial cities of Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. Dholera will have its own self-sustaining eco-system. It will consist of economic drivers through industrialization, utility and logistics infrastructure. Social infrastructures like education, healthcare and other public amenities will be included.


DMIC – THE VISION AND PLAN

Delhi – Mumbai industrial Corridor (DMIC) is India’s most ambitious infrastructure program, Aiming to develop new industrial cities as “Smart Cities” and converging next generation technologies across infrastructure sectors. DMIC will emerge as a “Global Manufacturing and Trading Hub” over the next few years.

Dholera will be the Largest Node On The DMIC and will most likely be the first smart city under the Delhi Mumbai industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC). It will have state-of-the-art utility & logistic infrastructure, social infrastructure including education, healthcare, other public amenities and much more.
